Palm Beach Wedding - Dunes - Emily & Carlin
Emily & Carlin’s special day at Dunes, Palm Beach NSW. (Photos below)
Last week, I had the privilege of photographing a beautiful wedding that was filled with love, joy & tears
The ceremony and reception were held at the stunning venue, Dunes. The couple had put so much effort into creating a day that truly reflected their personalities and love for each other.
From the moment I arrived at the AirBnB where the groom & his groomsmen were getting ready, I knew it was going to be an unforgettable day.
The atmosphere was electric, with laughter and excitement filling the air. As a wedding photographer, it's a priviledge to capture these intimate moments of anticipation and nervousness, as the bride and groom prepare for the ceremony.
The ceremony itself was simply magical. Emily & her girls arrived to Dunes in style in a white limo whilst Carlin & his groomsmen waited patiently at the other side of the venue.
(I should also mention how stunning the bridesmaids & bride looked, courtesy of Monica G Makeup & Unique Artist Hair.)
Carlin’s face absolutely lit up when he saw his bride-to-be walking down the aisle. One of my favourite shots from the ceremony is Carlin’s face when he first sees Emily & his Best Man, Javed (also his brother), smiling at the emotional reaction.
The couple had chosen to exchange their vows surrounded by flowers and greenery, with the soft sound of music from Georgia Ivory playing in the background. Carlin looked dapper in his Theodore suit, and the bride was breath-taking in her lace dress and veil from The Ivory Room Bridal.
As the couple exchanged their rings and said their vows, there wasn't a dry eye in attendance.
After the ceremony, we took some time to take some bridal party photos. The grassed area next to the venue provided the perfect setting, with the iconic palm trees & golden light filtering through them, providing the perfect backdrop for our photos. The bridal party were so easy to work with & were happy to get any shot that I had in mind.
After the bridal party photos were finished, we had about half an hour of light left to get some bride & groom portraits.
At this point the sun was quite low & the golden light was divine.
Dean, (the videographer from Core Visuals), and I captured some beautiful candid shots of them walking & enjoying each other’s company.
I managed to capture a range of images: walking shots with the palm trees & sunset as the backdrop, shots on the fence with the beach as the backdrop, shots walking on the beach & even some drone images with the help of my second photographer, Jeff - Jayems Photography.
I also shot some of the portraits with a slower shutter to add that motion blur & drama into the image.
With Carlin’s classic black tux & Emily’s elegant gown, it was hard not to convert most of the images to black & white!
Photographing this couple was a breeze thanks to their natural ease in front of the camera & it didn’t hurt that they are such a good looking couple!
The reception was a fun and lively affair, with music, dancing, and delicious food on offer. Claudia Coy was a great choice of MC & really set the tone for the evening with her humour & vibrant personality.
The couple had chosen a beautiful colour scheme of whites and greens, which complemented the venue perfectly.
Gracie Creative did an amazing job organising the stationery for the event.
The speeches were entertaining, emotional & heartfelt.
The party began as soon as the formalities ended, with the DJ taking the reins and the dance floor coming to life. Guests were full of emotion, letting go and celebrating the amazing day of Emily & Carlin.
I hope that the photos from this day will be cherished by the couple for years to come, and will be a beautiful reminder of their perfect day.
